Betty was born in Melbourne, Australia. She came to Christ, June of 1998, by providing a safe house in Queensland for an abuse victim that this ministry was rescuing from Sydney. After sitting in on the victims counseling and discipling sessions, she, through personal inquiry, came to Christ on June 12th, 1989. After moving to the United States at the end of July of 1998, she was baptized at Slide Rock, Arizona and married Rhettman in August of 1998. Since then, Betty has been serving alongside Rhettman in the various ministry works. Betty home-schooled our son while serving as the Chief Administrator and Director of SAFEHouse, and the Executive Vice-President of Church In Action Ministries. Betty holds an Associates Degree as a pre-school mothercraft nurse and has other undergraduate work and Australian certification in early childhood development, as a K-6 schoolteacher, and in abuse as well as grief and loss counseling.

Betty has developed and hosted little girls, tweens, and teens groups, little kids groups, and homework groups, assisted with the development and implementation of a children's day-camp and has assisted in substance abuse groups, as well as conducting and the writing of intakes. She has also actively participated in community and church programs such as foodbanks, financial aid and assistance, and she implemented a homeless support program and assisted in the Day of Sharing program (Thanksgiving and Christmas). She has also organized and ran our furniture, household items, baby and child-care supplies, and clothing bank for several years.

Yvonne became a Christian in November of 1982 at a PETRA Concert. She was a Senior in high school. As she looks back to that moment, she can see how God’s hand had been moving for years prior. Particularly, the friend who had invited her to the concert had been planting seeds for months, and she thinks he did not even realize it.

God used his words to plant seeds in her heart so she was ready for harvesting. Yvonne had her share of ups and downs. She was married very young and divorced years later. God has redeemed that part of her life though. She have since married again; to a wonderful man she met online. They have two little dogs that keep them pretty busy. She has not been blessed with children so they expect to adopt someday.

Yvonne's work is to help people with their finances. She was looking for a way to work for herself and help people in the process. She came across a wonderful company that provided training and licensing and more support than one can imagine. That, too, has been a road of ups and downs but she says that hard work will pay off and they will eventually have the life of their dreams.

Yvonne states, "I am tremendously supportive of Rhettman’s work and calling and am blessed to be able to help in my own small way."

Rhettman was led to Christ, became born-again, by Pastor Phil Yntema, on January 21, 1983 at Cascade Park Baptist Church (North American Baptist). He was baptized by Pastor Phil on January 19, 1984.

Rhettman has served in ministry in some capacity for the last 27 years with just minor breaks in service. In 1984, he began his studies to become pastor at Grand Canyon College (Southern Baptist private liberal arts college) but left after a year to join the navy.

In 2002, he went back to Grand Canyon University to finish his bachelor's degree, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Leadership, graduating at the top of his class with honors (December 2003).

In 2003, he was ordained as a pastor, and licensed as a chaplain, which is more of an honorary event for his over 25 years of service in ministry.

He currently holds a Master's of Science degree from Capella University and is a doctoral student in the Capella University Psychology (PhD) program. He also has graduate level work in special education (Grand Canyon University), and counseling (George Fox University).

Rhettman is a Mental Health Professional in the State of Washington Department of Mental Health and has practiced in Minnesota as a Mental Health Practitioner, in Arizona as a Behavioral Health Technician and children's team supervisor, and now works in Washington State as a professor for two universities and one college.

He also continues to counsel, as a Pastor Care Counselor and Life Coach, children, adults, and families. He consults for churches, ministries, and other organizations. He is finishing his doctorate program while working as a Child and Adult Therapist. He has also developed The Measure of a Man program to combat social decline in youth, and he teaches Parent/Child Workshops and other workshops, to help save families all while being in the final stages of finishing his doctoral degree in psychology.
